Registering for DMPonline.be

Researchers can access DMPonline.be using either:

• Institutional credentials
• ORCID credentials

Registering with ORCID

1. Open the welcome page of DMPOnline.be.
2. Select Sign in with ORCID.
3. You will be redirected to the ORCID authentication page.
4. Log in with your ORCID credentials.
5. You will be asked to connect your ORCID account to a DMPOnline.be account. For this to work, your ORCID visibility must be set to either Everyone or Trusted parties, and your ORCID needs to be connected to an e-mail address connected to an institute that has access to DMPonline.be
6. After successful authentication, you will be redirected to your dashboard.

Registering with Institutional Credentials

1. Open the welcome page of DMPOnline.be.
2. Select your institution from the drop-down menu.
3. You will be redirected to your institution’s Single Sign-On (SSO) page.
4. Log in using your institutional credentials.
5. After successful authentication, you will be redirected to your dashboard.

Logging In

If you already have an account on DMPonline.be, you can log in using any access method that is connected to your account.

Available login methods are:

• Institutional login: if you select Sign in with your institutional account, a drop-down menu will let you select your institutional affiliation, if your institution has access to DMPonline.be. When you select it and then click on Sign in with your institutional account, you will be redirected to your institution’s identity provider log in page. You can authenticate using your institutional credentials.
• ORCID login (see below)

After authentication, you will be taken to your personal dashboard.

Connecting Different Access Methods

Connecting ORCID to an already existing account

You can connect an ORCID account to an existing account that was originally created using institutional credentials.

To connect an ORCID account:

1. Log in using your existing credentials.
2. Open your profile by clicking your name in the top-right corner.
3. Select Edit Profile.
4. Click Connect your ORCID iD.
5. Complete the ORCID authentication process.
6. After successful authentication, your ORCID iD will be associated with your account.

Once connected, you can use either access method to log in.

If step 4 does not work, please verify the visibility setting of your ORCID account: it must be set to visible, or visible for trusted parties, and please ensure that DMPonline.be is a trusted party to your ORCID account.

Connecting institutional login to an already existing account

Disconnecting the ORCID from the profile

To disconnect an ORCID account:

1. Log in using your existing credentials.
2. Open your profile by clicking your name in the top-right corner.
3. Select Edit Profile.
4. Click on the x next to your ORCID and confirm your choice.
5. After this, your ORCID iD will no longer be associated with your account.

Once disconnected, the possibility to login using ORCID will no longer be available

Changing notification preferences

1. Open your profile by clicking your name in the top-right corner.
2. Select Edit Profile.
3. In the Edit profile tabs, select Notification Preferences.
4. Adapt preferences to your personal needs.
